Abstractions:
The basic abstraction of the app is that the user has folders that contain folders that contain debts and incomes, which then contain budgets and which then in turn contain payment transactions. There are three basic summary totals calculated by the app;
Cash assets, which is the total of all cash available on hand and in accounts, (but not debts, incomes, and amounts available in credit cards).
Net assets, which are cash assets and debts and incomes, both past and future, (including debts owed on credit cards, but excluding balances available on credit cards).
Drawable amounts, which are cash available and credit available, (excluding all debts and incomes).
Features:
Multiple user accounts that are password protected.
Graphs detailing budgeted incomes, expenses and budgets.
Reports detailing past and projected debts, incomes, expenses and budgets.
A calendar view detailing incomes, expenses and budgets.
A summary view detailing the incomes, expenses and budgets for the current period, previous period and current period.
The ability in all views to select daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual periods.
The ability to print graphs, reports, calendars and summaries.
Separation of business and personal expenses, and separation of transaction accounts, savings accounts, credit cards and cash-on-hand.
Alerts when a selected budgets comes due that are repeated each day at a set time until the budget is completed.
An extremely sophisticated calculation engine that allows the user to drill down into individual costs and folder, permitting individual folder totals in the graphs, reports, summaries and calendar. The calculation chain also takes into account transfers between two folder encompassed by the current folder and automatically zeros out the two halves to prevent confusion.
A “complete payment” feature to indicate that an individual payment has completed the budgets and debts/incomes to which it pertains.
An extremely sophisticated recurrence system that allows recurrences over an arbitrary number of days, months, weeks and years, allows you to specify particular days of the month, days of the week, and months of the year, and allows you to filter those for the first, second third, or last et. al. occurrences within that occurrence list.
A Creditors feature, to allow the user to track creditors and debtors, permitting summaries of payments made and received as bell as budget alerts when payments are due.
And many more features …
