MyPaths enables the user to create new hiking/cycling trails, to import KML trails published in the Internet and to access the EuroVelo routes, French Grand Randonnée (e.g. GR1, GR95, GR96, GR20) routes and lot of routes in the Corsica, France, Spain,… MyPaths is built with thousands of pre-selected paths and numerous utilities for constructing your paths, tracking your paths, analyzing your exercises and sharing your paths on MyPaths server and across social networks.I. MyPaths is a faithful buddy during all of the steps of your outdoor activities:1. Before ActionTo prepare an outdoor activity; such as discovering/following a new hiking or cycling track, several questions that are frequently asked. For example, the questions that concerns:- the feasibility: “Is there a path for walking from North to South of Corsica?”,- the distance: “What is the length of the path that I have chosen?”,- the difficulty: “What is the total elevation/inclination of that path?”,- the experience: “Is there any body who followed that path and what is his/her experience?”,- the community: “May I share my idea and invite others to do together the exercise?”.…..MyPaths is designed and built to answer to such questions:- MyPaths help you to find a pre-selected route (e.g. EuroVelo6, GR10) shared on MyPaths server (“Search” utility) or construct a new route passing the points of interest of your chosen path (“Path Editor” utility) or import a KML file from the internet. You can chose the type of route to find (walking or cycling) and also the smoothly of your route.- MyPaths help you to calculate the elevation of each point of your path.- The “Path Profile” window shows the elevation of each point of your route and and the distance from the start point to reach this point. Especially, the route portion that is shown in this window is highlighted in the map. This utility helps you to have a detailed view of the distance and the difficulty of your future path.- The “Path Profile” window also shows how other persons (if any) followed the route and what are the points to pay your attentions.2. In ActionDuring your exercises, MyPaths help you to:- track your paths: you can track a new path or follow a pre-selected path,- continue to track your path of the previous journey,- have maps access even without internet connection.3. After ActionAfter the exercise, MyPaths help you to:- review your exercises: trajectory, performance,...- share your exercise on MyPaths server and on social networks.II. MyPaths is designed with modern user interface concepts:1. TransparencyMyPaths introduces a new User Interface (UI) concept on mobile devices – the transparency. The transparency means that every UI elements are transparent and overlayed on a workspace. The workspace in MyPaths is earth maps with your path.The transparency enables to use all of the surface of the device screen; this allow having a better view of the maps and increase the interaction spaces.2. “All-in-one-page” behaviorMyPaths introduces also another new UI concept on mobile devices - “All-in-one-page” behavior. User does not need to change page-to-page to have different interactions. By combining with the transparency, MyPaths enables all the user interactions without changing pages.The “All-in-one-page” UI allow user to keep a view on the essential elements while having interactions with the device.3. Path animation on mapsMy-Galaxies team understand the need of reviewing in detail all of the portions of the path that the user prefers to follow. Thus, MyPaths highlights the path portion that is viewed in the “Profile Window” on the maps.Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
